Curriculum Vitae Update

Curriculum Vitae Update

Greetings fellow developers and code junkies!
While it certainly hasn’t been a long time since my last blog post (<24H), I have not been standing (nor sitting) still!
When working on making this website/portfolio as professional as possible, I kept asking myself:

“What is the most professional way for me to showcase my skills and experiences in one clean overview?”
The answer? Adding my CV in both English and native Dutch ofcourse!

Now you fellow developers can enjoy the fresh-of-the-press updated and translated CV to see if I fit the skills you are looking for in a developer worth following/hiring!

See you around,

The Beershop – PHP Laravel

The Beershop – PHP Laravel

Greetings fellow developers and code junkies!
It’s time to reveal another project I’ve been working on at the Avans University of Applied Sciences in duo’s, with the focus on learning not only the basics but also the do’s and don’ts of PHP development. For this we had the option of going full vanilla or a framework of our choosing, and after careful consideration we decided to pick Laravel as our framework!

The goal of this assignment was as followed:
“Develop and host a webshop with it’s own custom Content Management System for a handful of features on this webshop, including but not limited to managing Products, Categories, Users and Orders, using PHP”

The link to the public git repository and more specific information about this project can be found in the Projects tab in the navigation bar.

While it was certainly an interesting learning experience seeing as we both started with zero web-development knowledge besides HTML and CSS, we both agreed that we were very happy with the end result! Not only learning PHP but also how to properly use the Laravel framework and all it’s amazing features including but not limited to routing, Model-View-Controller separation, database handling was a lot of fun.

If you any questions, be sure to ask them in the comment section and i’ll get back with you shortly!

See you around,
Corné

Hello World

Hello World

Greetings ladies and gentleman, fellow programmers, developers and creative folks!
As a software developer (student) I’ve been spending more and more of my time working on personal and business projects, but so far these have all been private and kept to myself. After doing that for over 1.5 years in college a wild thought crossed my mind…

“…Why not blog about my development projects so those who wish to learn from my achievements and fails can do so?”

So with that goal in mind, I’ve been working hard to remodel this site for everyone to see and learn from, and hopefully even learn a lot of new things myself! With simplicity, ease of use and straight-to-the-point I will be posting updates on both personal and college projects which can range from a wide variety of programming languages, like Java, C#, PHP and Javascript combined with HTML and CSS.

Be sure to stick around!
